Rack and stack services in Toronto

Installing servers, switches, routers and PDUs into your cabinet, to your elevation, with power and cabling done properly the first time.

Rack and stack is the work most often underestimated. Mounting a server takes minutes; doing it so that airflow is right, both power feeds are balanced, cables are dressed and labelled, and the elevation matches your documentation takes longer and matters more. A cabinet built carelessly generates support tickets for years.

Serving Toronto and the GTA, with Ontario coverage available based on location and scheduling.

Request Remote Hands

Leave your details and we will get back to you to go through what you need.

A sentence is plenty — we will go through the detail with you.

We use your details only to respond. Nothing is scheduled and nothing is billed until we have confirmed scope and price with you.

We build to your elevation

Send the rack elevation and we install to it exactly, by rack unit. If you do not have one, describe the intent and we will build sensibly and document what we did, so you end up with an elevation either way.

Power balanced across both feeds

Redundant power only helps if the load is actually split. We connect to A and B feeds, record which outlet each device uses, and give you that mapping. It is the sort of detail nobody notices until a feed goes down.

Labelled and documented as we go

Cables labelled to your convention, ports mapped, serial numbers recorded, and photographs of the finished cabinet. The documentation is part of the job rather than something to reconstruct later.

Airflow treated as part of the build

Blanking panels in empty units, cables routed so they do not obstruct exhaust, equipment oriented consistently. Cheap to do during the build and awkward to retrofit once the cabinet is live.

What a rack and stack visit includes

  • Rail kit assembly and equipment mounting by rack unit
  • A and B power feed connection with outlet mapping
  • Initial network, console and management cabling
  • Cable dressing, routing and labelling to your convention
  • Blanking panels, grounding and airflow management
  • Serial number capture and photographs of the finished cabinet
  • Power-on and POST verification where requested

What is permitted at any given site depends on the rules of that facility and the access you hold there.

FAQ

Rack & Stack Toronto: common questions

How long does a rack and stack take?

It depends on the count and the tidiness expected. A handful of servers into an existing, well-organised cabinet is short work; a full build with structured cabling and labelling takes considerably longer. Tell us what is going in and we will give you an estimate before you commit.

Do you supply rails, cables or PDUs?

Normally you supply the hardware, cables and rails, either shipped ahead or already held on site. Tell us what is missing when you request the work and we will tell you whether we can source it or whether it needs to come from you.

Can you receive equipment before the install?

Yes. We can accept the delivery, inspect it for transit damage, and stage it for the install visit, subject to the shipping and storage policy at your facility.
