Smart Hands in Toronto

Technician-led work on servers, network equipment and storage: the tasks that need more than someone pressing a button on your behalf.

Where the industry draws a line between Remote Hands and Smart Hands, it is usually about judgement. Reseating a cable is Remote Hands. Working through a boot failure with your engineer on the phone, checking console output and deciding which component to pull next, is Smart Hands. We do both, and we do not charge differently for the distinction.

Serving Toronto and the GTA, with Ontario coverage available based on location and scheduling.

Request Remote Hands

Leave your details and we will get back to you to go through what you need.

A sentence is plenty — we will go through the detail with you.

We use your details only to respond. Nothing is scheduled and nothing is billed until we have confirmed scope and price with you.

Working alongside your engineers, live

A lot of Smart Hands work happens with your engineer on a call: they read the monitoring, we read the hardware. That loop closes much faster than a written exchange when something is actively broken, and it means the person who knows the system is still the one making the decisions.

Console, out-of-band and physical layer

Serial console, IPMI, BMC and iDRAC are routine parts of this work. Where a machine is unreachable over the network, getting a console onto it is often the fastest route to understanding why, and we can capture and relay exactly what it shows.

Configuration you supply, applied and verified

We do not design your network. We will apply a configuration you provide, confirm that it took effect, and report the result. That boundary keeps responsibility clear: the decisions stay with your team, the execution is ours.

Smart Hands tasks we handle

  • Diagnosing a server that will not POST, with console capture
  • Component-level replacement chosen from live diagnostics
  • Optic and transceiver swaps with link verification
  • Applying a configuration you supply and confirming the result
  • Working an incident live with your on-call engineer
  • Out-of-band management setup so your team can take over remotely

What is permitted at any given site depends on the rules of that facility and the access you hold there.

FAQ

Smart Hands Toronto: common questions

Is Smart Hands billed differently from Remote Hands?

No. Both are billed at the same hourly rate, and both draw on the same package hours. The distinction is descriptive rather than commercial.

Can your technician join a call with our engineers?

Yes. For live troubleshooting it is usually the fastest way to work: your engineer sees the monitoring, our technician sees the hardware, and the loop between them closes in seconds rather than minutes.

Will you configure our switches and firewalls?

We apply configurations you supply and confirm they took effect. We do not make design decisions about your network, because that responsibility belongs with the team that owns it.
