Remote Hands in Toronto
On-site technicians for teams whose servers, switches and storage sit in a Toronto facility while the people responsible for them are somewhere else entirely.
Remote Hands exists because infrastructure is physical and your team is not. A drive fails, an optic needs swapping, a new chassis has to go into rack B04 on Thursday. None of that can be done over SSH, and flying an engineer to Toronto for twenty minutes of work does not make sense. We are the pair of hands that closes the gap.
Serving Toronto and the GTA, with Ontario coverage available based on location and scheduling.
Built around remote teams, not local ones
Everything is designed to work without you being present: requests come in writing, scope is confirmed in writing, and the work comes back as a written report with photographs. You do not need to be in the same time zone as the equipment, and you do not need to explain your infrastructure twice.
We work to your instructions, not our assumptions
A Remote Hands request should read like a runbook, and we treat it that way. If a step is ambiguous, we ask before touching anything. If we find something that does not match your description of the rack, we stop and report rather than improvising on production hardware.
Access is yours to grant
You are the facility's customer, not us. Practically, that means access is authorised by you: a ticket raised with the data center, a name added to an access list, an escort arranged. Tell us the process at your site and we work within it.
One-off work and standing arrangements
Some customers submit a request twice a year when something breaks. Others hold a monthly block of hours because there is always something: a deployment, an audit, a swap. Both are normal, and the hourly rate is the same either way.
Typical Toronto Remote Hands requests
- Replace a failed drive, PSU or fan and confirm the device recovers
- Install new servers into an existing cabinet and reach first boot
- Reseat an optic or patch a port after a link goes down
- Power cycle equipment that no longer responds to remote management
- Photograph a rack so your team can see what is actually installed
- Receive a shipment, inspect it and stage it for a later install
- Meet a hardware vendor on site and supervise their work
What is permitted at any given site depends on the rules of that facility and the access you hold there.

FAQ
Remote Hands Toronto: common questions
How do Remote Hands requests work if my team is in another time zone?
Requests, clarifications and reports are handled in writing, so nothing depends on both parties being awake at once. Submit the request whenever it suits you and we pick it up during Toronto business hours, or sooner for urgent work.
Do I need to be a customer of a specific Toronto data center?
No. What matters is that you can authorise access for our technician at whichever facility holds your equipment. That is normally a ticket with the data center adding a name to your access list.
Can you follow a written runbook exactly?
Yes, and it is the format we prefer. Give us the steps in order with the expected result for each, and we will follow them and report against them. Where a step does not produce the expected result, we stop and come back to you rather than continuing.
